Abstract: Road databank within the meaning of the Act No 135/1961 Coll. on roads (Road Act) is a part of the information system of road management and serves as a tool for the administration and utilisation of central technical register of roads within the road network of the Slovak Republic. The article introduces the Information System of the Road Network Model which is the main tool for building, development and operation of electronic central technical register of roads and other data administered by Road Databank (RDB). The administration and utilisation of RDB data through advanced information technologies allows the effective support of executive and decision-making processes in the framework of road management.
