The properties of interpolation methods used for georelief modeling and its influence on the calculation of morphometric parameters

Benová, A., Moravčík, J.: The properties of interpolation methods used for georelief modeling and its influence on the calculation of morphometric parameters. Kartografické listy, 1999, 7, 10 figs., 7 refs.

Abstract: The article deals with mathematic modelling of georelief concerning accuracy of enumerating of morphometric parameters of georelief. We observed the influence of different formulas used for setting values of the first parcial derivatives of approximate function to the accuracy of georelief model. The variances have been studied using our own implementation of C1 continuous B-spline interpolation of regular discrete data field and Kriging implemented in Surfer.

Keywords: Morphometric parameters of georelief, B-spline interpolation surface, digital terrain model
