Abstract: The main goal of this paper is the orthophotomaps utilization for verification of accelerated soil erosion mapping. The study area is localized in a hilly country with agriculturally used (hap]ic luvisol) arable land near KoöIn (western border of central part of Trnavská pahorkatina). Presented soils, in consequence of accelerated surface water erosion at positions with different gradient and localization on the slope, have different size of humus and illuvial soil horizont. In our country nobody has worked with soil pits in such a detailed scale, localized with precise equipment and specially chosen (through the use of digital orthophotomap) and described in field. Besides aforementioned scientific priorities the results of combined research can be also used for practical purposes (they can be used as a basement for shift of real bonited soil-economical mapping units to worse soil-site category).
