Geometry analysis of surfaces (2D) and volumes (3D) as a tool of investigation of dynamic phenomena of natural landscape within 3D geoinformation systems

Hofierka, J.: Geometry analysis of surfaces (2D) and volumes (3D) as a tool of investigation of dynamic phenomena of natural landscape within 3D geoinformation systems. Kartografické listy, 1993, 1, 24 refs.

Abstract: Surface and volume geometry analysis of natural phenomena is considerably helpful in understanding of their spatial dynamics. Theory and applications have been successfully solved for surfaces, however, in 3D case the problem is more complicated and has been solved only recently. A development of 3D methods for volume analysis has a great potential for their use in detailed landscape modelling within 3D GISs.
