Abstract: The International Map Year (IMY) started in August 2015 during the 27th International Cartographic Conference in Rio de Janeiro and officially was closed in July 2017 when the 28th International Cartographic Conference was held in Washington, D.C. Motto of IMY “We love maps” was adopted as the theme of the next Barbara Petchenik Children World Map Competition 2017.
