The Cartographic Representation of a Silesian Identity Based on the Comparison of the Mental Map with Map of Nationality

Kaňok, J.: The Cartographic Representation of a Silesian Identity Based on the Comparison of the Mental Map with Map of Nationality. Kartografické listy, 2001, 9, 3 figs., 21 refs.

Abstract: The mental map of Silesia is understood here as a cartographic representation of the man’s ideas about a geographic area – about Czech Silesia. 920 respondents delimited the his-torical part of Silesia on the territory of the Czech Republic into this map. Final mental map of Silesia is compared with a map of Silesian nationality. The comparison can be understood as a level of sense of Silesian identity.
