Abstract: Land cover changes are identified and mapped by means of the CORINE land cover database for the 1990’s and 2000’s. The map presenting land cover changes is the evaluating tool for assessment of the land use dynamics and points to the character of natural conditions and socio-economic stimuli in district of Skalica. The relationship of the current land use (land cover in 2000) to natural landscape is analysed pursuing the synthesised map, The contribution presents technological procedures applied in the 015 data processing and their cartographic presentation.
