Abstract: The oldest known cartographic representation of Moravia is associated with the person of the Renaissance scholar Paulus Fabricius (ca 1528-1589). Apart from the original six-sheets map (1569), he also prepared its smaller edition in 1575, which is preserved in one print only. The paper primarily focuses on comparison of the content of both maps and the quantification of detected changes. At the same time, the semantics of the legend of both maps is analyzed. Last but not least, there are several insights into the quality of the geometric construction and engraving of the map. As well as the history of today's one known print is described.
