Abstract: The new three-dimensional reference system for Slovakia is proposed. The geometrical position will be defined by Cartesian geocentric coordinates with wellestablished relationship to the International and European terrestrial reference frames. Two alternative frames will be realised and maintained: one for surveying practice, the other for scientific purposes. The transformation to recently used frames is discussed.
