Priestorové modely krajiny

Koreň, M.: Spatial models or landscape. Kartografické listy, 2004, 12, 1 fig., 26 refs.

Abstract: The model is defined as mapping from source to target domain, which preserves some of the structure (morphism). There are two main categories of computer models of landscape: object-based models (vector) and field-based models (raster). From the point of view of mathematical theory the field-based models can be described by the set of functions (landscape’s characteristics, fields). Consecutively, the spatial operators of computer models can be expressed in terms of well-defined mathematical operations (composition, distance, classification, approximation, interpolation, etc.). Abstract spatial models are associated with higher level of abstraction, universality and independence from specific computer implementation.
