Abstract: The first two „Cartographic Days“ were held in Olomouc under the sponsorship of the Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics of CGS, the Cartographic Society of Czech Republic, the Czech Association for Geoinformation (CAGI), GEOINFORMATIKA.SK and the Department of Geoinformatics at the Faculty of Science of Palacký University in Olomouc. They are meetings of cartographers and other experts on a small conference. The main topic of these meetings is: The modern approach of thematic mapping in geoscience subjects. But the focus is different every year. The first cartographic day in Olomouc (23 February, 2007) was focused on the cartography in climatology and hydrology. The second cartographic day in Olomouc (29 February, 2008) was focused on the cartography in demography.
