Abstract: Paper presents a short overview of current state of cartographic methods use in presentation of hydrological data in the Czech Republic. Due to new EU directive on assessment and management of flood risk implementation process a review of flood maps will take place in becoming years. The main aim of the paper is to present use of GIS techniques in real-time hydrological modeling in the Czech Republic. Newly developed software AquaBase 6.0 is introduced as a tool for spatial management of input data in real-time flood forecasting in the Czech Republic.
